Working with ScopeM

Depending on their specific background and needs, as well as the complexity of their research project(s), researchers have the possibility to interact and work with ScopeM in different ways:

  • User lab: direct access to ScopeM instruments
  • Projects with ScopeM experts
  • Scientific consulting
  • Scientific collaboration

Possible interactions with ScopeM

User lab: Autonomous work on ScopeM instruments

Most researchers work autonomously on ScopeM instruments provided they have successfully completed the corresponding specific training with ScopeM staff and formally got their “driver licence” (DL). Researchers with a DL can book their sessions directly using ScopeM web portal (external pageinstrument booking) and perform their experiments on their own. Further info under Guidelines for User lab.

Projects with ScopeM experts

Work on research projects may include sample preparation, imaging, measurements, data analysis, and any combination of these. Such work can be executed by ScopeM staff or jointly with the researchers. See How to become a ScopeM user.

Scientific consulting

Before or during a specific project, the users may ask for technical and/or scientific coaching and expertise by the ScopeM staff.

Scientific collaboration

Scientific collaborations in the frame of projects funded by third parties (SNF, Innosuisse, etc.) are also possible, e.g., to establish new methods, enable frontier projects and further develop technical excellence. Please contact ScopeM management team for any further info.
