Research activities

The principal research area of ScopeM is in methodologies and techniques that enable to push frontiers in light and electron microscopy applications. The aim is to explore and develop new fields in structure research and micro-/nano- analytics. Sample preparation methods for light and particle microscopy are constantly evaluated to enhance the quality and accuracy of investigations.

Currently, in collaboration with microscope suppliers and international imaging platforms, ScopeM has a strong focus on enabling technologies to bridge microscopy modalities; e.g. correlative light an electron microscopy (CLEM) or correlative imaging between various modalities.

Partnerships have been established over the last years with research institutions both in Switzerland and abroad regarding various topics, for example on bridging EM and X-ray modalities, on automated sample preparation techniques and on correlative imaging and analytics.
