Equipment Handling

  • Users are in­struc­ted by ScopeM staff how to handle the vari­ous tools. These instructions and rules are binding.
  • The user who books an instrument in PPMS bears the responsibility of operating the instrument. This responsibility cannot be delegated.
  • ScopeM rooms have to be kept tidy, any used in­stru­ment­a­tion should be handled with care and cleaned after us­age ac­cord­ing to staff in­struc­tions. All per­sonal items should be re­moved from ScopeM rooms after mi­cro­scope ses­sion, un­less agreed dif­fer­ently with the re­spons­ible staff.
  • Any dam­age, spill­ing of li­quids on equip­ment or any other in­cid­ents should be re­por­ted to the responsible staff. Sys­tems found in a non-standard state should also be re­por­ted im­me­diately. Reporting should be done:
    • immediately by phone and email
    • entries in the logbook
    • enter an incident in the PPMS booking system and inform next users
  • Removal, exchange of any ScopeM material, instrument or parts is strictly forbidden, unless otherwise agreed with the responsible staff.
