ScopeM provides to users an access to temporary storage for max. 60 days. This temporary storage must be cleared by the users after they have transferred their data in order to keep free space for the next users. The data is automatically deleted after 60 days.

For further help on how to access temporary storage and retrieve data, please refer to the file called “Readme_homefolder.pdf” located on the desktop of the PC running the microscope.

Light Microscopy Image Processing Computers

ScopeM provides access to 5 image processing computers that can be reserved through the booking system PPMS. Those computers are located in the building HPM (room C53.1).

Data storage rules

The acquired data (images and settings) may initially be stored on the microscope (acquisition) computer. ScopeM does not take any responsibility regarding a possible loss of user’s data.

The acquired data can be uploaded on (or downloaded from) our ScopeM temporary storage server (scopemnas.ethz.ch) through cifs (samba) or afp protocols.

After data transfer, the user is asked to delete remaining files stored in the microscope directory in order to keep free space for the next acquisitions and users. If there is not enough space for acquisition, the user is authorized to delete old data starting with the oldest ones.
